Slacko 5.5

Hi 01micko.
I am a Linux newbie and have downloaded slacko 5.5. It’s running very nicely. Thank you so much for this great distro. However I noticed that my laptop will not shut down at Menu/Shutdown/Power-off computer and closing the lid when I am in a hurry . It seems to go into hibernation and will finish off shutdown if I open the laptop lid some time later again.
Than again, it will shut down immediately when I leave the lid open until it has finished shutdown. How can the laptop be made to finish shutdown with the lid already closed ?
