How to make Precise 5.4.3 sleep/hibernate when lid closed? |
|
I installed Precise Puppy 5.4.3 on my Dell Inspiron 3700 laptop, so far it works like a charm. However, when I close the lid on the laptop, the computer doesn't go into a sleep or hibernate mode. How do I setup a sleep or hibernate mode? Thanks.

I don't see the acpitool in the package manager. Is there another way to install it? I tried downloading the acpitool-0.5.1.bz2 file. I was able to extract it, but then when I tried the make command in these instructions, I got the message "make: command not found"

somehow i assume that acpitool comes with slacko by default. Puppy default kernels are only compiled to support sleep mode, not hibernation -- except kernels by pemasu ie Saluki or Dpup Exprimo 5.X* . Dunno about modern kernels by 01micko .
