Looking for a System Restore program for Puppy 528

#1 Post by jacatone »

I'm using PL 5.2.8. I seem to recall seeing an imager or system restore program in some of the other PL distros. Is there one for 528?

How are you using your Puppy? If it's a full install, I don't know for sure; you may have to make a copy of the entire Puppy partition. If it's a frugal install then you only need to periodically copy the Save file, then use the copy to replace the working version if something goes wrong. Other ways of running Puppy can use other ways to back up and restore the Save file. Running Puppy from Multisession CD or DVD in effect keeps the Save file on the CD or DVD.

Burn a live cd

if running a full install.

If Frugal. Copy and save personal save to another partition or usb drive or cd/dvd. Rename it by adding a one or two or three.

Anyhows, that is how I roll in linux. Be it Puppy or any other distro.

Edit: I used to use PUDD also to clone drives to SD card when I had my eeepcs.

Cool. Thanks for the link. In Windows, I use RollbackRX which creates a hidden partition on the hard drive and allows you to select any previous saves. Does this program do the same thing?

I don't know. I only use Windows to sell my old gear and to tune motorcycles.
