I added in MIME association for .aup file
and right click menu item. It works
in Thunor file manager as well (see image)

I made this package because

1) It's very small ---> 6.3mb

2) It runs on a wide variety of puppies, new and old,
including Carolina lite. It was tested on Raring Precise Slacko!!!

3) It's very fast!!

4) The only bug I know about is the record timer which
should be avoided. EDIT: version 1.3.12 fixes this bug 8)

new version 1.3.9e

I made a change for Thunor users so that .aup projects will have a
right click just like .wav .mp3 .ogg etc

Also if libtiff.so.3 doesn't exist a link is created.

I am also posting 1.3.12 static which was compiled by
forum member 'mikeb' since he told me that version 1.3.9 doesn't work
properly on his compaq laptop, whereas his version did work
properly.

I am still listing the version 1.3.9 since on my old IBM desktops
it recognizes my sound chip automatically. i.e. no hassles

Retrovol is needed otherwise to set up the sound properly.

I checked out audacity 1.3.12 on Lucid puppy 528. It worked fine.

I am also now posting the foreign locales for Audacity 1.3.12
in the first post for anyone interested.

Here's how it looks in Japanese..

Hi, I installed Audacity 1.3.12 static on my Xenialpup64 7.5, because the release 2.1.2 was not working, but when booting from the terminal it gives me this kind of error:
error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: wrong ELF class ELFCLASS64
and I'm stopping here because I don't understand it.
Can you point me in the right direction to investigate?
thank you
Sonia

This here version of Audacity is 32bit.

The your Xenial is 64bit.

You would need to use the 32bit compatibility .sfs (if there is any) to get this version of Audacity running (if possible at all).

Hi.

I had lately compiled Audacity 2.2.2 for BionicPup64, but it didn't work in Xenial64. Tested right now. Complains about wrong GLIBC version.

Compiling Audacity 2.2.2 for Xenial64 didn't work either, since I can't connect to the web using my USB modem, as Xenial64 7.5 still comes with the faulty usb-modeswitch package installed.

So, no chance to download the necessary dependencies for compiling in Xenial64 7.5.

I could upload Audacity 2.2.2 as single .pet or .sfs package.

I think I could also include all dependencies, so it might work out the box.

Anything else needed?

Compiled some more programs for BionicPup64.

No, no, don't worry, you've been very kind already. It's not so important as to bother you beyond measure.
I'm fine so Itsmersch; I won't use audacity until someone fixes it.

Is bionic new puppy release, true? or Ubuntu release?
I have to investigate.

BionicPup64
It is in beta version.

Besides a few minor issues it works fine on my machines.
