Check your bios when starting the PC, maybe sound is turned off.

If everything is OK in bios, run the command alsaconf in a terminal window, and see if you have a working sound system at all.

You to find out which module your soundcard needs and whether its being loaded or not.

Try to find the exact model of your card using

PuppyMenu > System > HardInfo

Check the sound modules loaded using the terminal command-

lsmod | grep snd

On the hp pavilion g6 is the sound working?

---

What does HardInfo show regarding sound cards, for example under PCI?

PuppyMenu > System > HardInfo

---

What sound modules loaded, what does the terminal command return-

Code: Select all

lsmod | grep snd
