ReadOnly Drives in Recovery

#1 Post by davdee »

Hi. Attempting to recover a RH Linux drive in a Win7 Laptop (but booted with USB puppy) (PSU had died before so now USB connection to ide drive) But when I get to the Puppy GUI, RH and target Drive appear as ReadOnly after a mount and scan. Is there a way to make drives writeable? I know the USB boot must not be but the others?

Thanks

Puppy will sometimes mount a drive as read-only if it detects some kind of corruption. How is the RH Linux partition formatted?

With the partition UNmounted, run

Code: Select all

e2fsck -p /dev/sdxy
