sdllopan: another mahjongg variant

#1 Post by muggins »

this is sdllopan, as a compressed executable file. I think you need sdl libs for it to work. it's controls are :

F1 changes tilesets
F2 changes background
<enter> gives new game
<escape> to quit

Dotpup:

http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Games/sdllopan.pup

Has nice grafics, like the stones more than xsob.

Note a small bug on my sytem, but not on muggins computer (details see followups):
It has no title.
When I click in the tasklist on the sokoban-entry (the empty entry), JWM crashes, and I must type "xwin" to restart X. Maybe that is an issue of my Ati-graficsdrivers.

I go asleep soon, so if there are more games, I will make Dotpups tomorrow :P

mark,

i was going to ask you about this. because i've put this in a makeself extracting executable format, just to reduce the file size & because it seems to work fine, i thought it might not be the same if this was translated into a normal .pup file.

i just click on the lopan compressed file & it never crashes. perhaps to make a dotpup out of it, you would have to use the "real" executable file, which is temporarily extracted, while you've got the game playing, to a file in /tmp called something like selfgzxxxx.

what do you think?

ps yes i like the graphics to, and the simplicity of it.

no, that does not help.
It might be a bug in JWM 1.7, that it cannot handle entries in the tasklist that have no title.

One might have to change the source of lopan, so that it sets a windowtitle.
Wait, I test this:
rxvt --title ""

This also creates an empty task-entry, but JWM does not crash.
So I have no idea at moment...

mark,

yes it might be a jwm1.7 issue. i've got pup1.08, with jwm1.4, & just downloaded the dotpup & installed, and it runs without crashing jwm.

What libraries are needed?

I downloaded and installed the .pup file and it doesn't do anything.

I downloaded Muggin's file, and get a report that there is an error in one of the files.

trobin,

perhaps you're needing sdl library files. try installing these & see if it's OK:

i've reposted sdllopan as i removed a bunch of image files and reduced it's size from 300k+ to 28k. (i've no idea what the extra image files were for!).
