You tube suddenly acts up. Ads works not songs? [Solved?]

#1 Post by nooby »

Maybe it was the Double Click that needed to get white listed
in NoScript but I am only guessing. Seems to work now though.

Does any of you have same problem?
Maybe them have changed something?

It plays the ads then nothing happen.
If I change to another song then it play
the ad again but not the song so
could it be some incompatibility with
NoScript or some other addon?

Or have youtube some upgrading or
something that makes the database not available or what

I can't say I've had any problems with YouTube, lately. Since you mentioned NoScript, have you tried selecting the "Temporarily allow all this page" option from the NoScript statusbar icon, if it's available, and see if that helps? (I usually just Customize and add the button to my toolbar. Makes things easier. :) )

Also, you might try force-reloading YouTube (shift+reload), just to make sure it's not a cache issue.

I doubt it's the cause of the problem, but is your Flash plugin up-to-date?

I should try the shift reload to see if that helps.

Take this one The Cornetto Podcast - Episode 1
that one worked and then the The Cornetto Podcast - Episode 2
did not work and I tried something else and then suddenly
the Episode two work but now the The Cornetto Podcast - Episode 1
does not work. So it is totally unpredictable.
an one our documentary on johnny Cash
worked and Jack Scott worked and then three
Swedish folkmusic clips all failed

so I think it has to do with some ads looking for something
and not finding it?
Shift + Reload is that Shift + F5 or what?

Totally unpredictable. This one
Josquin des Prez: Mille Regretz; Bruce Dickey, Cornetto and Hann
did not work a minute ago but now it suddenly works

Haha now suddenly the The Cornetto Podcast - Episode 2 does work

So, are they consistently working? :)

If not, you might try whitelisting youtube.com in NoScript. If you've got an adblocker installed, and you suspect ads may be the cause, try disabling the adblocker to see if anything changes with YouTube.

Also, yes, Shift+Reload (the Reload button on the toolbar) is the same as Shift+F5. Both force a complete reload of the page and all of its elements. A normal reload might call parts or the whole page from the cache, if it can.
If the forced-reload did help, somewhat, you might also try emptying the caches in Preferences > Advanced.

Yes I did the cache things daily so it is not that.
More likely the NoScript stopping DoubleKlick
and them getting mad at me :)

Now when I have accepted Doubleklick it seems to work better.

I block Doubleklick as you would say and significant OTHERS with adblock and youtube videos function fine.

So it could have been something else then?
Anyway it works good now.

Should I block double click? What do they do with my clicks :)
