getting back to my unhelpulness, a tip that may be of use to someone--
since the clipboard (install glipper or parcelite if you've got one of the rare puppies that doesn't come with one stock) is persistent, highlighting the version you want once makes that text as permanently available as you like--clicking the taskbar clipboard icon calls up all that you've highlighted or copied (depending on how you've set it up) and left clicking on the entry puts it into your middle-click/right click delivery system.
