You can try this command at the terminal using the real name of the particular Pet that you want to examine:

Code: Select all

pet2tgz some pet package-version.pet
I am making an assumption that this is what you are wanting to know --putting aside your difficulties with searching the Forum apparently.

nooby,
the link in your signature does not help
to find anything useful for "look inside pet" :!:

Hi LIBL,

This question was posed by tytower in April 2012 and was answered.

Using nooby's signature search - and the search words "look inside pet" tytower's April 2012 thread is the first item listed.

For tytower to find his April 2012 thread using the Forum Search Engine he could have merely used the keyword "inside" with "tytower" as the author.

I find, a Forum search can sometimes refine results faster and better than nooby's signature method. If the latter fails - think what's a simple combination or perhaps a single keyword or author's name you remember if you struggle finding a recent post, especially if Flash has moved your thread.

Hi Jasper,

that is a bit different with me.
At first I had put the search term into the wrong field resulting in zero result.
Using right input field then 2 results: just the posts in this thread.

It is a mystery...
... and I am not really interested in solving it

The search engine here is good only for 1 search term without spaces I think...

As JASPER said, Using NOOBY's Search Link in his Signature , tytower's thread from 2012 showed up first as non-commercial :

Well done Nooby !

Karl,
thanks for the photograph

it can tell more than 1000 words

The difference in our results is because
search for wrote:look inside pet
is different from
search for wrote:"look inside pet"
You have solved the mystery

tytower,

Disregarding your OP about the stupid search, however regarding your query ("look inside pet"), I believe amigo (aka gnashley in other fora) is working on a program to validate the internals of any package.

HTH (in some way).

Thanks for all the advice
If it ain't fixed by now then I will just have to post each new question without searching the forum first.
My surprise was the garbage I got back bore no relation I could discern to my input .
Ah well DuckDuckGo is my friend !
