PupX > screensaver >"exposures"? [SOLVED]

Hi all,

I know what "exposure" means as used in the world of photography.

But I can not fathom what it is in a screensaver and what "allow exposures" does.

As you can see I left it untranslated, but that's not very satisfying....

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I have translated it as: "Allow to redraw window".

Thank you Sergey.

I will do the same.
You probably mean "screen" and not "window"... (I do understand what you're saying though)

Thanks again,

Bert

pupx (by BarryK) is frontend for xset.

# xset
usage: xset [-display host:dpy] option ...
To turn bell off:
-b b off b 0
...
...
For screen-saver control:
s [timeout [cycle]] s default s on
s blank s noblank s off
s expose s noexpose
s activate s reset
For status information: q
#

Code: Select all

man xset
gives some explanations which I also do not (yet  ) understand.

my 0.02 EUR

edit Maybe Barry has a tooltip :?:

Just did a quick pupX/screensaver test:

I changed both 'Delay' and 'Interval' to 5 sec.

* unticking the blank screen option, does nothing, screensaver stays black.

* unticking the 'allow exposure' option, prohibits the screensaver from running.

At first sight: not very useful, these checkboxes
