How to connect 2xPC's?

#1 Post by boof »

My notebook has a dead LAN port. I have an ordinary LAN cable RJ45-M both ends[NOT X-over]. I have a LAN (RJ45-M)/USB A-F adaptor; 1 to 1; 2 to 2; 3 to 3; 6 to 4 (or reversed- 6 is to the leftmost with the gold usb terminals visible). and an RJ45/RJ45 F-F joiner. Can I just connect it all up, or should I do something more? I think the LAN/USB adapter blew my LAN port and I can't afford to kill them both.

Is this the one you made yourself by wiring an RJ45 jack to a USB cable?
