Running Carolina 007

#1 Post by ezl »

I downloaded Carolina 007 and have been walking this Pup, I should say
WOLF! Growl Growl... This one has to be the most intuitive one that I have
ever tested! Hands up to the fellas that wrote this one! The only thing
that I have done different with it was to remove FireFox, mostly a metter
of preference. I've noticed a difference in speed versus SeaMonkey on
YouTube and had an idea what it was. I went ahead and installed the
version 2.17 of SeaMonkey and ran it beside FireFox to compare the two.
I was use to running SeaMonkey on the older version Pups and went
ahead and kept it and removed FireFox. I noticed the difference with
FireFox 21 which was in Mint Nadia and ended up replacing it with
SeaMonkey.

Nadia has a lot of applications that can be installed but I found that it
was no way as flexible as Carolina. The XFCE4 really makes Carolina
stand out! I rather run the Pups versus the large Distros mostly because
they are more flexible to use and to interface with a Windows operating
system. Try fixing a problem in a big Distro once and you'll know why they
are more popular. I don't use Windows very much anymore and my first
choice when starting up the system is now Carolina!

Again keep up the good work fellas, you've got a winner!

Hi Dennis,

I can't speak for Geoffrey or rg66, but it'd be a good bet that they'd be thrilled to hear that you find Carolina to be "intuitive". Yes, Firefox can be problematic due to the fact that Carolina relies upon older "wary" libraries, but at least you have an alternative. Thanks for being a Carolina supporter, and I do hope that your venture concerning Carolina is fruitful.
