Mouse won't work unless I boot without pup001 file

Where is file that the CD makes on the hard drive?
I listed the wrong type mouse when I first tried Puppy.
Now I can

I would start Puppy, after X loads, hit alt+crlt+backspace to kill X

Then delete these two files

/etc/mousedevice
/etc/mousebuttons

the commands to do this are:

rm /etc/mousedevice
rm /etc/mousebuttons

Then reboot the computer - I think you will be asked to enter your mouse information.

Disclaimer: I've never actually had to do this myself.

As for the location....

It will be in the root of the drive....ie not under any directories


If you are using win9x\msdos it will be in the same place autoexec.bat & config.sys are.

If usinf Win2k\WinXP it will be in the place boot.ini and ntdetect are
