#1 Post by Trev »

Hi
I have recently UPGRADED over version 1.0.7 with Puppy2.0.
All seemed to go OK but how do I verify that the version is upgraded.
At present I cannot see any difference to the previous version.
The Boot disc showed PUPPY 2.0 on the screen. But nothing on the upgraded version.
Hope this question isn

Upgrade problem

#3 Post by Trev »

Hi Lobster
Thanks for your reply.
Well the result was version 1.0.7 so obviously it was not updated.
I have tried a second time to upgrade to 2.0 But with no result. Everything appears to go correctly and it goes right through the Update process but no result.
I have just setup another partition on my hard drive and loaded 2.0 into it and all is OK and the new version is up and running.

Now I could keep that partition, as long as I can transfer all my 1.0.7 settings over to the new partition.
Is this possible to do relatively easily or should I continue to try to upgrade the 1.0.7 to the 2.0 version.
Not sure where to go from here.
By the way the computer is only used with Linux distributions, I have done away with windows on it.
Many thanks
Trevor

hmm, it seems that the Installer script is not doing upgrades very well.
