A couple of issues with remastering my CD

#1 Post by rmcellig »

I am using Precise Puppy 5.6.1. I remastered my setup twice and everything was fine except for a couple of questions I have.

1. Google Chrome is problematic after a remaster because it is looking for the SingletonSocket file.

2. The other issue is Dropbox. I have a file called Dropbox1143 which when activated launches Dropbox. I keep this file in my Startup folder. My Dropbox folder is saved in SDA6. When I start Precise, Dropbox cannot find the folder because I would assume sda6 isn't mounted. What should I do regarding options to fix this?

Other than these two issues, I am really happy with the new Precise 5.6.1 so far.

I boot into Precise from a non Multisession DVD. My save file is kept in sda6.

You would assume correctly.

Bearing the following comment in mind:

When booted up in Precise (using that savefile) wouldn't sda6 become /mnt/home :?:

Your right. So it would make sense that Dropbox would find the folder because it is in the home directory and the home directory has to mount because it contains the save file.. Make sense?

Hi

If your Dropbox1143 file points to (for example): /mnt/sda6/dropbox
change it to point to: /mnt/home/dropbox
