Looking for a Linux friendly single-function inkjet printer. Must have separate color ink cartridges that are not outrageously overpriced. No wireless (wi-fi, bluetooth, etc.) machines. If anyone has (or had) a printer that meets all the requirements, please advise brand & model number, so I can track one down. Thanks!

From what I understand, HPs are among the most Linux-compatible.

If you're in the States, you might want to hit the library and research specific models in older Consumer Reports magazines. Then check cartridge availability and price on the Internet.
(Note: Newer-model cartridges seem to have less ink.)
