That pre suffix is sure sign that PPM udpate has failed. If there is none of those, the processing of databases has not failed. I dont know what went wrong. I suppose you have restarted X for testing that something in /tmp is not interfering. Restarting X flushes /tmp content.

Not working on Fujitsu T902 Subject description: Wheey and Raring hang o Fujitsu T902 |
|
Ensemble Wheezy and Raring are forbidden on my laptop.
WHen I try to boot either Wheezy or Raring, GUI appears and, after a few second, or after reboot, PC screen freezes and PC locks, not responding at CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE.
It depens (IMHO) perhaps from X11, not kernel (I tried a transplant from Precise 3.8.3.1. with Kernel 3.9.8.1 and the new system works very well).
Fujitsu T902 mounts a Intel HD4000 VGA interface.
If you tell me how can I do, i submit the file with hardware specs.
I can't try this new puplets ...

I restarted x and still same problem. Tried launching in terminal to see if I can see what the error is but no luck in finding the command to execute this. Is there a command to run PPM from the terminal?

Can you translate this for me and what I can do to fix this so PPM can work?

Ooop. It looks like there is 2 rows in file doing the same thing.
/root/.packages/PKGS_MANAGEMENT
At the end of the file there should be only one like this:
PKG_REPOS_ENABLED=' Packages-ubuntu-raring-main Packages-ubuntu-raring-multiverse Packages-ubuntu-raring-universe Packages-puppy-noarch-official '
Remove both lines and copy my above one and left one row blank after that one.
Restart ppm
If that does not help. Try Classic user interface.
In file /var/local/petget/ui_choice change the text from Ziggy to Classic, save and restart PPM.

Sounds like a plan, pemasu. So where in my directory files would I find the petget
package repo text file?
NEVER MIND....I figured it out and did what you said and now its working again. Sheesh!!!...Thank you again for all of your help pemasu. Your the best !!!

josepinto. It is known problem with python-numpy and Puppies. There are missing symlinks for the dependent libs. Also....there is one missing library dependency.
Childsplay has root restriction which needs to be eliminated.
Install libatlas3-base. Then install this pet which fixes the root restriction and creates the needed libs symlinks for libatlas3.

pemasu, my question apparently got lost in the change of thread,
so I'll ask again. 398 (and 3981) have wlan0 power management OFF
by default. I wonder if the bug fix is in Frisbee or the kernel?
Your latest Raring is free of any major bugs/annoyances on my test
machine. Nice work!

Dunno about kernel. But you can check. I have that udev rule still for your rt2500pci included, lol. Personal tuning.
Remove this and reboot:
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
Then you see if the rt2500pci has been fixed. I believe it will have wlan powermode still ON.
