Is there a way to make the icon larger? I was able to make the text larger. I'm using Puppy 5.2.8 with Rox,and Openbox.

My Mom loves the simplicity of the desktop and asked me if there is a way to increase the size of the icons.

Hi!

Maximum icon size on the ROX pinboard is 48x48 pixels. You can check the size of an icon or of any picture in mtpaint: it's on the status line at the bottom, on the left-hand side.

Questions:
Is the desktop in your picture a ROX pinboard?
Do you know how to choose icons for it?

BFN.

Musher- doesn't gunzip do it?

==

For starters Randy Laughing you gotta rename it! Then it's this bit..
Quote:
All you need to do now is replace your current ROX-Filer file with this new one.

So, navigate to: /usr/local/apps/
and right click on the file called: ROX-Filer
and select: Look Inside

You may want to make a backup copy of this original file: /usr/local/apps/ROX-Filer/ROX-Filer
if so then simply Drag 'n' Drop it somewhere and select Copy.

Then Drag 'n' Drop your new file: rox-filer-20100408smw-patched/ROX-Filer/ROX-Filer
into: /usr/local/apps/ROX-Filer
once again, select Copy and allow it to overwrite the current file.

Finally, close all open windows and files,
then restart the X server.

You can now right click on a desktop icon,
and select the Set Icon option in the popup menu. (a window will open for you to drag an icon onto)

Go to wherever you have your bigger icons located,
and then Drag 'n' Drop the appropriate icon onto the Set Icon window that opened before.

Hope this helps
CatDude

Banking and the other 128's >> WebToolHub. Gmail's here.

Make an icons folder in ~/ for when Pup gets wonky..

Special thanks to CatDude for the Wink inspiration.

No Luck. After unzipping the file, i renamed the file (rox-filer-20100408smw-patched) to ROX-Filer and then dragged it to the Rox-Filer directory. I was prompted to overwrite the ROX-Filer file that was there and overwrote it with the new file. I then restarted X and all I got was a black screen with no icons, I would imagine because Puppy isseeing the new ROX-Filer file.

I tried to bring up a ROX window. No dice. Through the terminal I renamed the current ROX-Filer file and put the old one back, and restarted. Things look fine.

Where did I go wrong? CatDude's instructions are very straight forward.

You try this on a live 528 or existing save file? You NEED the big icons for this to work..

You get this for the md5, correct >> 8e96c567876b5b6231d8ce8f05799f31

I might have more libs than you so I'll try'n add the default configure opts tmrw.

As I recall there were three or four that were spec'd during default output..
