I'm trying to save the 2fs file of a Lucid frugal to a USB stick. The idea is to consecutively name the copied 2fs files for identification so that, in the event of a disaster, I can revert back to an earlier version. On the desktop there is an icon that runs save2flash, which may well do what i want. It may however only work for a USB install. The script brings up a message that the request has been queued and that another message will appear when the saving starts. Is there any way to force it to do the saving? At present I'm not confident that it will do anything. I've checked the stick and there is still no 2fs file on it after a number of sessions and save attempts.
I would be grateful for any help or suggestions.

That icon just manually saves it to the existing save file. I think this program might do what you want.

Forcing needs code changes .

The /sbin/pup_event_frontend_d , /usr/sbin/save2flash and /usr//sbin/snapmergepuppy are responsible for the queuing . It indicates that a multimedia program is running or an installation or download is happening .

Thank you both for the replies. The pet in the thread cited by dancytron was exactly what I was looking for. It worked just fine AND did the time-stamping in the name for me. Just brilliant!
I'll mark this thread as "Solved".
