Peasy DVD Player

Gnome-MPlayer often has trouble setting the language and subtitles correctly on my DVDs. This little app is just a GTKdialog front-end for MPlayer, but it works for me.

Please test. I am particularly interested in how it handles non-North-American DVDs.

Click the Help button for instructions. Note the use of certain keys to control language and subtitles during playback.

Testing in Dpup Wheezy. Seems all good and I am in the European zone.
I am not an expert in DVDVD's though, hardly ever watch them.
Let me know if there are any specific tests you want me to try.

Thanks guys. I was curious about what other languages are on non-North-American discs and if they work the same.

Are there CJK subtitles on Asian discs?

If there was something like that for DVB-T ... ?
I know VLC only needs couple of clicks to get picture up, then
the xerrs.log is some km long, at the end of the day :(
and tv-guide burns the last of the thermal paste that CPU used to have..
Maybe mplayer would run smoother, if configured to local DVB-T

Will look into mplayer manual now,
never used the thing before :?

with Pupjibaro Jessie

Peasy DVD Player plays DVDs with Pupjibaro Jessie. And Kevin Costner.. (DVD france)
2016 playing DVDs is not so easy now, with our Woof CE puppies and VLC.
"Just what we need (TooPpy Precise 5.4.3)Thanks again for these light but usefull Puppy Tools" pelo said above. That is true. :)
Peasy DVD topic was in the depth of forum, as Gxine, and xineDVD.
Bad quality of last Puppies provided with VLC make these DVD players having a come-back..
torm, Unbuntu and Puppy tharpup kicked out Mplayer.

PeasyDVD is just a front-end for Mplayer. You can have Mplayer in Tahrpup for 2 MB and in Xenial for another 5 MB.

It's not pretty, but it always works for me.

so they should be included in the ISO

so they should be included in the ISO. Newbies are not able to reinstall stuff deleted by our VIPs.
Gnome-mplayer is the DVD player in pupjibaro Jessie. But it plays nothing..
Josep24 will solve the problem in next version, he told us en el foro ibérico.
