How to make Wake-On-LAN work?

#1 Post by portafreak »

Hi,

I cannot get wake on lan to work on puppy linux. I have activated the option:

ethtool -s eth0 wol g

The problem is that puppy linux power off the network card on shutdown.
It is a PCI express network card.

I've checked back the option on reboot, it is not activated. For some reason it is not saving the setting.

I have found this link to fix the problem but I cannot find the file interfaces:

You could try and use this:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=48335
Use this Puppy search site for more options:

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

I know I can wake my machine...
The problem is Puppy turning off the PCI network card.
Is there any way to leave the network card active?
