How to add app/tool in the dock for temperature monitoring?
I'm using Slacko 5.6 frugal on a pen drive.
I am quite concerned about my legacy laptop's temperature and RAM. Is there any tool to install to the dock/task bar to monitor these stats?

Then you should probably give Macpup derivate a spin . The enlightenment wm has a temperature applet in the shelf .
Then there is xosview app to monitor everything , but that needs the temperature enabled in the config .
Some use acpi for temperature and some need to load extra drivers manually ie it87.ko or coretemp.ko that do not have the temp vals in /proc but /sys .

Try this temp monitor.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

There is a program usually installed with Puppies called *Hardinfo* which has a temp gauge report. In Puppy-528, I find the app at: Menu/System/System Status and Config/HardInfo hardware information. Note: not all machines will have a temp gauge that registers.I am quite concerned about my legacy laptop's temperature and RAM. See if CPUtemp works on your machine:illidan.modeler wrote:I'm using Slacko 5.6 frugal on a pen drive.

This is a nice widget. But the temperature indicator has nothing to show though CPU indicator shows normally. Where can I configure the temperature indicator?bigpup wrote:pwidgets

Code: Select all
lsmod
100% sure that it is not loaded automatically,
since the loading mechanism lacks some extra checks :
cat /sys/devices/platform/coretemp.0/modalias
platform:coretemp
in regards there is a
whatever:
before the driver's name .
