Hello,
After being sent a Puppy Linux 5.5 disc from Australia(perhaps therein lies a UK compatibility issue?),my Windows XP PC informs me that I cannot be connected to the internet because my Modem(BT Home Hub 2.0) has not been recognised.
I currently run in Safe Mode mostly ,thanks I believe to a dodgy cookie from a puzzle mag and subsequent Trojan.I cannot use my printer(Epson Stylus Office BX300F),cannot access downloads received and viewing TV/Youtube /news items is a pain.....even out of Safe Mode.Put up with this for nearly a year so jumped at the chance of trying Puppy Linux.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
DJ

Reset the modem.
" Reset a Version 2 hub by locating the recessed "Reset" button on the side (of the three buttons on the side, it is the only one that is recessed). Push the "Reset" button (again, you may need a straightened paper clip or other small object with a narrow tip) until the lights on the Hub change, then release it. "

How do I reset my BT Home Hub to its factory settings?
" A factory reset is not the same as 'power cycling' or restarting the Hub. This is just switching the Hub off and then back on again in a controlled manner. It won't affect any changes you've made to the Hub settings."

Chris.
Likely, but Linus's accepted kernel driver might ..Puppy should not affect your modem.
Otherwise : No source, no idea !
Except that some people have a good hand selecting Puppy , while their old hardware starts to fail ..

Thanks for the replies,I will follow appropriate advice after checking them out.
My Home Hub Router works fine in current use and doesn`t require resetting;it`s just that I cannot get it recognised when attempting to use the Puppy Linux 5.5 disc supplied to me.Failing to get beyond the 1st step instructed by the disc....no connection as my modem is not recognised.
Printer not working is down to another issue and is one of the reasons I was advised to use the Puppy Linux system,so that I could use the printer drive via that service. Can`t proceed until I can get my Modem recognised.
Cheers,DJ.
