LxPupBionic 18.05 +8 running the 4.17.8 64b kernel updated to 18.05 +12, keeping the 4.17.8 64b kernel (used for mitigations) on the computer below using the delta. The standard Grub4Dos frugal install to SSD. Code: | # inxi -bw

Dmesg pretty clean. Regulatory firmware loading nag fixed by installing regulatory db as in upupbb and upupcc, the pet I use is attached below. Sorry I haven't chased the backend modprobe failures at all yet or looked at the stock kernel/pristine install wrt that yet. Everything concerning disks and media seems to be working perfectly.
Code: | # dmesg | grep -i failed

| Intel_pstate 'powersave' and acpi_cpufreq 'conservative' governors compared. Both work about equally well on this hardware with this kernel.
No CD/DVD to test, Sylpheed and Slimjet 18.0.5.0 with profiles symlinked to the EXT2 data partition as usual. Shutdown and reboot clean. Remains a very solid pup with perfect lxde/pcmanfm integration IMO.
Thanks,

Hi @Marv
regulatory.db is included in all the builds HOWEVER 3builddistro-Z deletes /lib/firmware and all its contents assuming that zdrv (or fdrv) will provide.
Needs a woof-ce change to fix - https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/woof-CE/issues/1248
In the meantime, I do have a kludge which will fix new versions pro-tem.
Thanks for reporting.

I so very agree - simply fantastic Puppy, peebee! Everything working OOTB just as it should, with all of your great polish/tweaks/feature integration/etc - couldn't wish for anything more.

Updated my LxPupBionic 18.05 +16 to 18.05 +21 on the Fujitsu S761 i5 based laptop. As in upupbb, I use the 4.9.134 kernel from upupcc. Brief use but dmesg, video FPS, sound, SNS connection, sylpheed & Slimmie from SFS all fine.

+21 surprised me. After some days use, I found a 'bug'. Evince in +21 segfaults on very large pdfs, 150Mb or more for sure. I don't know the exact breakpoint. Tax forms, image heavy segments of a service manual about 10Mb are ok, the whole manuals segfault consistently. Happens in a pristine +21 install, in an update from +16, with the stock kernel and with 4.9.134 from upupcc. Evince in the current upupbb, upupcc, and IIRC LxPupSc64 and LxPupSc doesn't. I've reverted to +16 and it's fine there. Posting from +16 now. Just opened the 174Mb electrical manual with Slimmie running and it's ok. This is on my Fujitsu S761 i5 workhorse, 4Gb ram etc.

Hmmmm - works fine for me.............
Have you:
- connected to the internet?
- rebooted and created a savefolder / savefile?
Both are essential prerequisites.
If you have - need more details of your install and what exactly you mean by "doesn't work" - what do you see?????????????

Six days or so on LxPupBionic 18.05 +28. As usual, frugal Grub4Dos install to SSD on the Fujitsu S761 i5 based laptop. First a pristine test, then running an update from +23 using the 4.9.134 kernel from upupcc. As usual, solid as bricks. Both system checks and daily use perfect.
Thanks,

Running great here, peebee... Sound, video/Youtube on Light, WiFi - all good. An awful lot of Pup in just a ~290 Mb iso (and folks complain of Puppy bloat... sheesh!)
One small note; Running the included conky required the additional installation of libreadline5_5.2+dfsg from the PPM (complained of missing libhistory.so.5, I believe. I just guessed on the libreadline package... and it ran. ).
Thanks!
Bob
