pls, how do I change default back to view file in ff?

I'm in ff on a web page, and click a filename. I was offered to save or view file.and make that option permanent. Now I need to undo the permanent choice. How, pls?

To set the default actions taken for different filetypes, click the Firefox button (or Edit, if you're using the menubar), then Preferences.

Then select the Applications tab. It will give you a list of all filetypes, followed by the current default action or application used to open that filetype. If you click on the action for a filetype, it will give a dropdown menu to select alternatives. Selecting "always ask" means Firefox will always give you a choice of what to do when you click on files of that type. Sounds like that's what you want.
