Hi All,

Thanks for the information on what BBC streams work outside the UK. Glad so many did. I have also noticed that they seem to take a little time to start playing. This little app is getting better and better.

Regards,

Ken.

Wow, thanks, didn't expect this kind of response for this little app :)
I will package es and pl translations with next update.
Question though:
Should these translations take effect if I change locale from Chooselocale setup in puppy (session not saved but I restarted X)
Not working for me, see screenie.

Dear Dejan,

It is a nice little app. I tested it in Cinnamon Mint 16, which I also have installed, and it runs perfectly once you unstall a recent gtkdialog and the few other dependencies. And it runs fine from '/home/vovchik' as user 'vovchik', too, so you wrote it very universally and, once installed, it does not write anything into dirs that require root privileges. Nice.:)

With kind regards,
vovchik

Yes if you use vicmz's gettexted version of simplegtkradio

I did, and I just uploaded new version with gettexted changes, language files and code for playlist choice, see first post for instructions how to setup.

Also, tlchost gave me information about this radio player's streams database with 24000+ stations which can be downloaded link, so I converted stations in simple gtk radio format and split them in playlists of 500 entries each, just unpack, move playlists in $HOME/.config/simplegtkradio/playlists and enable playlist chooser as mentioned in first post and there you have 23K+ stations (haven't converted streams starting with mms://) to choose from (some will play, some not, haven't tested if all playlists load but I think I have removed all charachters from station names that can cause errors)

Get playlists: playlists.rsdb.tar.bz2 582 KB

vovchik, good to know that it works on other distros too, yeah I had multiple users in mind, I also tested on dpup 486 as different user I have multiuser thing going to some point there

Portuguese and Italian

Note: for some weird reason the first time Simple GTK Radio v0.1.11 is launched it says "Radio stopped" in English when it should say it in the system language, but this gets fixed after you do stop the radio broadcast by clicking the "stop" button.

Spanish updated for v.0.1.12
The GUI seems to be a little bit inflexible for translations. I like the new search feature. :D

Hmm, it seemed like a good spot for search to fill empty space, but if it gets in the way of text maybe it should be just another icon on top toolbar which pops up input dialog for search.

Some developers write their program GUI to fit text by auto-stretching when necessary (usually a change of language and/or font size), others simplify the text itself, for example "time" instead of "elapsed time" or "vol." as an abbreviation for "volume".

The search feature is really outstanding.

I have a playlist file that is 1148k and has over 14000 radio stations in it. It can complete a search in less than a second.

It's a little large to load as a default playlist file but is an excellent station resource. Double clicking on the results plays the station.

Quite brilliant.

This is an update for the Spanish translation that makes translations fit better in the current GUI, see screenshot below. Portuguese and Italian were also updated.

This is a great improvement. Makes finding and playing stations in the playlists really easy.

Thanks,

Ken.

PS Sorry could not get 'quote' to work.
