WorkhorseOS Dpup 009 based General Purpose OS

#1 Post by darry1966 »

http://sourceforge.net/projects/dazsbar ... rkhorseos/

This os is based on Dpup Squeeze 009 and is break from my minimal builds to provide an OS that can be burned to CD and used for Office, Multimedia Work, Browsing, etc without too many apps just 1 app for one purpose. It includes Libreoffice 4.03, Xmms (Slaxer version), VLC, QT, Latest Seamonkey, Audacity etc.

Like its parent you will need to install grub4dos from the folder as I found during installation that the installer cannot find grub on the cd.

I have included in the folder with the iso and instructions about this os. It is bigger than usual but I wanted to include Libreoffice by default for this build. This installed and ran very well on my not so Inspiron Dell Laptop with 256meg ram in fact on some systems this would beat pup4 for ram usuage.

One other thing wallpaper needs to be set after install as I forgot to include default wallpaper with the iso. Anyway enjoy installation of this was way, way, easier.

I've downloaded this one today and have just been using it. It's a very good Pup with a lot of software; the only problem I had with it was that I couldn't get it to install several of the dependencies for Osmo. which I use a lot.
Gigabyte M68MT-52P motherboard, AMD Athlon II X4 630, 5.8 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 250 GB Hitachi hard drive running Ubuntu 16.04.6, MX-19.2, Peppermint 10, PCLinuxOS 20.02, LXLE 18.04.3, Pardus 19.2, exGENT 200119, Bionic Pup 8.0 and Xenial CE 7.5 XL.

Thanks Darry! I'll try it out when I'm next in WorkhorseOS. I also noticed that the repository has a copy of Grub4dos, which is another thing I noticed WorkhorseOS didn't have and could do with.
