How to install Minicom terminal program?

#1 Post by ELMIT »

I am looking for a terminal program to communicate with another device.

I downloaded devx_201.sfs and put it also onto the 201 USB flash drive

I was under the impressin that is all what I need to do, to compile the source code of minicom.

What have I forgotten?

I also tried to copy just the binary from another machine to puppy 201, but than it complaint that it cannot find the shaared library libresmgr.so.1
Do I need to find this one too?

bye

Ronald

elmit,

if you check the forum you'll see several posts regarding getting devx_201.sfs working. (someone reported that renaming to usr_devx.sfs worked for them).

anyway, regarding minicom, check this link:

Also, Puppy already has microcom.
Also, Cutecom is a gui and is a pupget.

EDIT: Sorry, it's called picocom, not microcom.

I will test this as soon I can get to the board again.

But that brings up, what else is (hidden) under the hood of Puppy? Is there a least of all such programs? I have not found these two programs.

bye

Menu --> Help

has help for picocom.

Regarding Cutecom, use the pupget package manager and just browse.
