Problems with Gateway NE71B keyboard and wireless

#1 Post by liesnomore »

I installed yesterday Puppy on my USB stick(32G). Everything went good, but my wireless (Intel Centrino N105) is not working( not detected) and my keyboard is "messing up". If my keyboard is not working, then I have to re-boot and sometimes works. It does have Nvidia chipset. Any solutions?.
I just downloaded "slacko" and will try it. Thanks.

Hi...

What version of Puppy are you using and what is the kernel version?

Code: Select all

uname -r
According to this, it looks like your chipset has been supported since kernel 3.2.

I would imagine Slacko 5.6 would support it since the PAE version has the 3.10.5 kernel and the non-PAE 3.4.52.

I'm not sure how to help you with the keyboard. Give Google a shot and see what comes up.

Unplug AC power >> remove the battery >>

I don't know if you solved it but also for other people having issues

The trick is simple enough,

just press F3 on the startup sequence and that should

This is fifth Linux distro that I am trying and every one have the keyboard problem, but only the Puppy can not find my wireless. I had installed the Lucid and Slacko. No luck. Would be possible that Gateway do not like Linux?. I need Linux to learn POP-11. Can not get it work in windows.

It's likely that there is a physical (hardware) issue with the keyboard. So you weren't able to get Slacko to recognize your adapter?
