Beryl, Tint2, gatotray, myGtkMenu and menu script PET

#1 Post by whoguy »

Hi all,

Just repackaged my desktop environment into a pet. Works on all ubuntu puppy versions.

Cheers

Updated to ver0.4

Fixes
-Dynamic myGtkMenu script added...it will automatically add/remove items
-Sub and Sub sub menu's now all have icons automatically

Issues
-start menu a little slow to start... but I can live with that because it picks up every single desktop file.

It's pretty much perfect now... Please try it... Please learn to use Beryl as it's a very very powerful window manager,

Hello, whoguy.

Looks interesting, but additional info is needed please.

Your package was composed on Puppy version... ???
Is your package compatible with all Puppies ?
Also, is it true that Beryl requires a powerful video card ?

Are any backups made of the previous environment?
I'm sure you worked hard on this, but what if I don't like it? ;)

BFN.

Hi Musher,

No, I didn't work hard on it at all.... umm.... compiled on Precise 5.7.1, but works on Lucid, Precise 5.x.x.

Not much else I can tell you...just my desktop settings... works well on a hp netbook atom 1.6 Ghz single core, fast and responsive. Even better on a normal laptop.

Nothing really interesting, only good if you use many virtual desktops and like using the scale feature to switch between apps.

That's about it.... I take no credit for anything as it is all from other great and awesome programmers!
