Hello compile this audio analyzer, comes bundled with libjack libraries, libQtCore, libQtOpenGl libQtGui and necessary for it running.
It works in Slacko Puppy-5.6 but I hope to work with other distributions.
I do not use it but I hope it is useful for someone.

I forgot
I forgot two things:
The program menu entry under Multimedia.
and
I forgot to check that we have adjusted all levels in the level settings alsa-mixer.
The microphone must be selected and level, and microphone plugging into the socket, to see the test run.

First time testing fmit
Hi to all.
This is quite an unusual analyzer program
and it works ok in Puppy Slacko 5.7
It took me awhile to get used to it,
so be aware of the multiple functions
of the buttons, both left click and right click.
After eventually finding the most suitable opening display
to return to later, here's a few useful things to note:
In Configuration - General, it's best to tick Auto save.
If the program freezes unexpectedly, it's not a fault.
In Configuration - Sound Analysis - Algorithm - Volume Threshold,
move the slider from the default -28db to about -60db to
increase the signal input sensitivity.
Then everything bursts back into life.
Yes it helps to find comfortable settings for the system
audio recording faders. It's useful to have the Retrovol
panel open at the same time to match a known external
mic input tone level, say 1khz 77.5mv rms to the
Volume -20db line as reference, per the screenshot.
It would have been more helpful if the Fourier Transform had
a grid with a 10db/ per line, down the left hand side for
comparing the tone fundamental and harmonics levels.
I was amused at the frequency drift of my homemade
audio source oscillator. Should have used mylar caps
instead of cheap ceramics when first constructed.
