jamesbond,

Thank you for all that info. Now a couple of more questions/observations.

What are the username and password to get into CUPS? I have tried about 10 of the usual combinations and none of them work!

I am not having much luck setting the System Timezone. About the closest I can get to my actual time zone is 4 or 5 hours away.

The Fatdog64 user's ability to drag a control panel icon out onto the desktop to use as a shortcut is nice. Might you be able to implement this capacity in FatdogARM?

I am getting the warning
Personal Storage getting full, strongly recommend you resize it or delete files.
I have deleted a whole bunch of files, but am still getting the message on reboot. The Control Panel/Savefile Tool will not let me resize the Savefile, if I booted with the Savefile. Where do I put the “savefile=none

Hi jamesbond,

I am still trying to increase the size of my Savefile.

Clicking on the mmcblk0p1 icon, I have found the uEnv.txt file, and have changed

Code: Select all

#savefile=
to

Code: Select all

savefile=none
and saved the file.

After rebooting, all of my savefile material is still quite accessible, and going to Control Panel =>System => Fatdog64 Savefile Tool, I am still getting the message
Fatdog64 Savefile Tool can only be used when you run without using a savefile. Reboot your system and specify savefile=none as your boot option
.

Have I not followed the correct procedure to changed the savefile size? Is a savefolder a better option? If so, how do you implement it without losing any material in the savefile?

Thank you.

The usual puppy password. But let me try that.

As in, the timezone not available? Or the clock is always wrong?

This will not happen for a while. The panel that is (correctly) capable of performing drag-and-drop of menu items is razor-panel, and razor-panel depends on Qt4, which I haven't built for ARM yet.

I am looking forward to that.

Does FatdogArm come with XBMC?

It will probably comes with an update as well because the kernel change brings other changes too ...

No. I suppose there are already many other XBMC / media-player oriented distributions, so I don't see FatdogArm fulfilling a need here. But let me know if you think otherwise.

jamesbond,

Thanks for the info again. I now have two partitions and a fdsave folder, and the setup seems to be working O.K.

The Time Zone selector doesn’t seem to be very functional. One is presented with several very general geographic areas. I chose America, and immediately am assigned “Adak

Did you restart the CUPS service? Or did you configure it to start at every boot?

Also - perl-xml-parser package is fixed. Please re-download it.

In the Fatdog Control Panel you can choose to "start/stop" and "enable/disable". Enable is the same as "always start at the next boot" - that's probably what you need.

I'm almost ready to upload a new fd-arm.sfs with new kernel package for odroid. It will come with some minor package updates (patched openssl, patched bash) and some functional updates borrowed from Fatdog 700.

Just got my U3 yesterday and you just release a new version, thank you for your work James.
i'm having a black screen problem with beta2 on my U3, fatdog boots but boots to a black desktop, only the mouse shows up, if i righ-click i can see the right click menu, and from there when i start programs some will show up on the screen others will not. There is no background, no start button, no icons. i can only see something when i right click my mouse. When i shutdown i can see messages about desktop failing to start

Edit: fatdog is runing ok, my U3 has a bad usb port, when i insert something there i get problems, some of them with the display. Bad luck, i'm going to return my u3. Thank you for your work James

Yes. I upload hostapd to the repo too, but I think the built-in wifi in Mele can't work with it.
I re-uploaded the image with the latest bash patch (patchlevel 51, build 4).

rc.platform for Odroid-U3 and firmware s5p-mfc

#91 Post by mories »

Thanks for the update.

rc.platform must be adequate to the value of the item Hardware in /proc/cpuinfo, that in the new kernel is "ODROID-U2/U3" (at least in my U3).

Also think the firmware s5p-mfc it's missing.

Thanks mories, both the kernel package and the sfs is re-uploaded to address both problems.

This package "gst2-plugins-base-odroid-1.4.3" has disappeared from the repository.
Can be replaced by "gst2-plugins-base-1.4.3" in ODROID?

Yes. The "base-odroid" version was patched so that playbin and gst-play use "v4l2video10convert" (Odroid's hardware accelerated format converter) by default - but it doesn't always work well (I've got colour artifacts when testing it) - so I have removed it. The normal "base" one is unpatched and will use "videoconvert" which is software, but works better and doesn't seem to make a lot of difference (at least on 720p). If you still want to use v4l2video10convert, you can do so on your own pipeline (not using playbin or gst-play), and it works.
