scribus_1.4.0.dfsg+r17300.pet

confirmed to work in precise 5.7.1 and 5.5, it seems to contain (via gnewpet) the depencies 5.7.1 required of it, unless that stuff just happened to be included in 5.5. and not 5.7...

info:

(desktop publishing, if ya don't feel like clicking).

enjoy.

edit: also works in quirky tahr and precise 5.6.1

This is a real nice program. I'm surprised you didn't get more hits on it.

Works exceptionally well on Barry's Quirky Unicorn.

Thanks Puppus

Best,

Hi Slavvo67,
See this topic for getting latest 1.4.4 on 32bit system, although no pet has been posted there, some links are given to get the latest.

If you want 64bit,
Fatdog 631 has Scribus 1.4.1 and 1.3.9 in it's package Manager.
And Fatdog 700 has very latest Scribus 1.4.4.

Thanks.

- Neeraj.

libhyphen0_2.8.3-1.pet

libpodofo0.9.0_0.9.0-1ubuntu2_i386.deb

scribus_1.4.4.dfsg+r18267-0precise1_i386.deb

installed in precise 5.7.1. it wouldn't launch without the two dependencies above, and wasn't functional until i installed the 1.4.0 pet on top of the .deb. not tested beyond open, close, save so you may want to use caution or stick with the 1.4. seems okay, though.

PostPosted: Mon 24 Oct 2016, 05:03    Post subject: scribus_1.5.2 for tahr64 (i'll change the thread title when
Subject description: a version not dependent on wine becomes available/usable).

Quote:
i couldn't get any of the scribus packages i found to work in 6t4 (and this would presumably hold true for tahr64 604/5), so i tested out ScribusPortableTest_1.5.2.paf.exe along with w1921.sfs, having recently put together that, w185.sfs, w185.pet, and w192.pet from version2013's most recent wines, 1.8.5 and 1.9.21. it appears to work well, at least in testing as limited as was done in the thread for the precise package (which thankfully isn't dependent on wine--the 30 or so megabyte file inflates and downloads, so for those not familiar with wine, it's weightier than it seems). pretty sure the 32bit lib package is necessary for wine as well, but there'd be no harm in trying it without that sfs loaded.
see here for scribus-1.4 and 1.4.4 for the precise spins and 32 bit in general: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=765896#765896

Are You Satisfied with Scribus ? I was a member of a team for publishing a review, each month (around one hundred pages) . It is not an easy work to do. Everyone one wants to be at the top of the review.
Anybody could feed back about Scribus ?
Apart installing well or not. Scribus run well with Puppy.
Problems appear for print...

For professional print the pdf output in Scribus -and any other publishing program- must be with cmyk profile color, most color problems in these programs is usually for that reason.
