On which mtPaint version does this happen? Even the remotest possibility of such a thing should have been eliminated since 3.44.41 - so I'm *very* interested whether I missed some other bug in there.

I just tested and it happened again.

It's 3.44.13, I guess we don't have latest & greatest, I'll get the sources to compile asap.
It doesn't happen on my install though, can it be graphics-card related?

EDIT: wjaguar, what's the correct code to clone latest development snapshot from git?
EDIT: I'm cloning with

Code: Select all

git clone https://github.com/wjaguar/mtPaint.git

It's working fine now.

I switched to icewm too, the menus don't update after adding a pet until the /root/.icewm/menu is edited and a refresh menu done but it's working pretty well apart from that.

Yes, icewm could be solved in 2 ways:
a symlink to point /root/.icewm/menu to /root/.icewm_menu
Or edit fixmenus script to copy/move menu to proper location

BTW, I uploaded individual packages used for this update here:
http://meownplanet.net/dejan/dpup487/basepkgs/

And additional packages will be put here:

After moving my flash drive to a different pc:

I downloaded and loaded kernel_src-2.6.30.5-patched.sfs4.sfs then
compiled the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-331.67.run proprietary driver.

I took a stab at compiling wine 1.7.17 and it worked, running the
windows version of xbmc 12.3 works too.

Great news Billtoo, I might make a package for wine, is 1.7.x stable enough or should I package 1.6.x? BTW, mkpkg script is added to devx for programs that compile with generic build parameters, just run it from source dir and it will also ask you to make pets.
I assume with updated libs and gcc you should be able to compile a lot of programs.

I ran the mkpkg script from the wine source code directory and it
produced 3 pets, I did a fresh Dpup487 frugal install to the hard
drive of my lenovo desktop which also has a nvidia graphics card but
it's connected to 2 monitors.

Hello, dejan555.

I hope you are well.

What would be the best urxvt (rxvt-unicode) to run on dpup-4.87, if we do not like or
need a tabbed terminal ? Something supple, that can open another window of itself
without making a fuss or issuing font (-fnt parameter) errors.

I tried compiling the latest rxvt-unicode-9.19, it didn't work in dpup-4.87 -- some
image lib was missing. * (see note)

Then, I tried installing the rxvt-unicode-ml_9.07-2+b1_i386.deb and then the
rxvt-unicode-lite_9.07-2+b1_i386.deb from the Debian Squeeze listing at pkgs.org,
without success. These ones seem to be allergic to any TTF mono fonts -- even if the
fonts are present in the dpup.

I ask because I have written many information scripts based on less. In UpupRaring
3.9.9.2 or most other Puppies, it is easy to issue a command in the form

Code: Select all

urxvt -some_urxvt_parameters -e less -some_less_parameters SomeInformationFile.txt
and it opens a separate urxvt window showing the info.

It seems I cannot do the same with mrxvt: the info shows in the same tab -- but not
always. mrxvt cannot spawn itself without the tabs, right?

Many thanks in advance for any reply.

PS * I was able to compile this latest urxvt 9.19-full in UpupRaring 3.9.9.2 yesterday
and it works beautifully there.
