Most Linux distros come with emacs, vi, vim -- sometimes all three. Has anyone used these with Precise Puppy 5.7.1? Can they be used?

Mostly what I do on a computer is write. I am trying to get my operating system more geared up for that purpose.

For writing stories and such, where all you are doing is cranking out words, and you don't need WYSIWYG, I find that Leafpad works just fine.

The Artha thesaurus is another nice tool. There are PETs for both of these.

geany and leafpad are included with your system, as is the sea monkey composer/editor.

none of those do what you want?

if not or despite yes, check the PPM for the other three you mentioned or search for .deb versions on the internet.
