Trying to install DVDStyler

#1 Post by jacatone »

I found the web site for DVDStyler, but it has instructions for installing in Ubuntu, Debian and from source. Never was very successful at installing tar balls. Is there some other way to install this?

You should use the version in the package manager for whatever Pup your using, else it will need to be compiled.

I know Precise has one, not sure about the others, did you try the one I repackaged for Carolina that "wow" made for Wary.

I trieded installing an sfs one and it wouldn't work. I don't believe DVDStyler is in the package manager for PL 528.

I just downloaded the Precise pet and its dependencies and repackaged them as one pet. I can only say it works in the Puppy that I'm using "Fluxpup" but if you wish to download the pet and try to install, I posted it temporarily here:

If it works in your version, please let me know.

Here is LP2_DVDStyler-1.8.sfs from LazY Puppy (Lucid 528-4 based), which was build from the DVD Styler 1.8.0.2 from Lucid's PM Repository.

After burning through several blank DVDs, I can't seem to master DVDStyler. How would I try VideoTrans which is a .deb Ubuntu program in Precise?

VideoTrans is a set of scripts run from the command line, no gui, you'd be better trying DVDStyler again, it works for me ok, I don't burn the dvd with it, I just create a ISO first to check it, then use a burning app, in Carolina I use XFburn.
