So this posting will be a little different. I've got to do some recruiting for this particular project as I don't have the time to dedicate to this but need it soon...
As some of you may (or may not) know, I "piddle" with firearms regularly - I'm a Gunsmith, reloader, shooter, hunter, and have done some safety and beginning training instruction. I have a precise puppy which I have created some specialty programs for using BaCon and use it as a live-OS to help with some of the "daily" routines such as load log book, etc. As part of this ongoing development, I am in need of a "program" to calculate the group size of fired rounds (3 to 5 rounds per group). I am looking for someone familiar enough with graphic windows and BaCon programming to be able to put this together for me .
Project Description:
What is needed is a graphic window that can import/load an image file (a target with the shot group), scale the imported image up and down between 20 to 300 % (100% being nominal), , save the image and any changes made to it, clear the window if needed, and a means of exiting the window. It would be preferable if the bullet holes could be distinguished in the image (a dark or light background which shows through the holes?). The user will need to right -click the center of the imaged target to gain the initial 'zero' point, then left-click the center of the holes to indicate their position in relation to this 'zero' point. The left-click should also leave a visible indicator (possible a cross-hair type image) showing the hole location has been established. The distance between the two holes most furthest apart (preferably in inches and centimeters) will need to be provided as well as the number of holes clicked (left click count). A center point of the hole locations is also required. Once all the 'zero' point, all hole locations, and central point of impact are established, the user can then click a button to transfer the collected data ('zero', distance between outside holes, central point of impact, and number of holes - possibly in a temporary file that can be read in) and launch the calculations program I have that will show beside the graphic window.
I don't have the time to go through and learn all i need about the graphic windows and mouse point capture to make this happen right now, and I need to have this in place before the time to prepare for hunting season begins here - sometime within the next 2 months (before August).
Anyone who is interested in helping with this project, please pm me and we will discuss terms and compensation in more detail. I know I can count on the marvelous people here - so thanks in advance!
