Simple Opengl testset

#1 Post by mikeb »

I was having a problem with low fps with a game on a new setup which contradicted glxgears suggestion that performance was 3 times what it was before yet actual fps was down 75%...reasons unknown.

Most benchmarks seems to be 1. large and 2.aimed at high end cards, machines and games.

http://www.roylongbottom.org.uk/linux%2 ... hmarks.htm
has a neat little set of tests which work on pretty much anything giving simple but useful results with a set of increasing complex tests resembling the sort of stuff games use ..at least puppy world ones.
One thing that was not mentioned is to copy the textures into the folder containing the test used. There are binaries for 32 bit, 64 bit linux and windows so great for making cross comparisons.

A tidy toolset for establishing happy opengl and simple debugging.
