after checking their website http://lazy-puppy.weebly.com/ i guess i would try it as well although i am happy and full of joy that i finally was able to make puppy run like it advertises, but i had to barter an old IDE cd/dvd burner for a single 512mb ram module ddr 266mhz.RSH wrote:http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 243#788243bill wrote:This is an easy one ! Several things can cause this.video playback of youtube has lag on the video
The graphics driver you are using.
In Quickpet->drivers tab
Run "click here to test your graphics card"
What driver is recommended?
If not what you are using, try using that driver.
The quality setting of the Youtube display screen.
You can adjust it on the screen.
Lower settings will run smoother.
Your internet connection speed.
Not fast enough for high quality settings.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

With that hardware and todays videos, this is probably your best option.

64 MB of graphics memory is nothing today.
Thus only 7 usd cost.
Now that you have more memory. You could look in the computer bios settings and see if you can adjust graphics memory usage.

A different version of Puppy may work better for you. 512 MB of RAM is enough to run any version of Puppy from RAM only, so you can try different versions of Puppy from live CD (or DVD) and not mess up your present Puppy install or settings. Just boot the CD (or DVD) with the "puppy pfix=ram" boot option. If you don't like it, just remove the disk, shut off the power and try another one.
Hi hcasarrubias ...hcasarrubias wrote:Unfortunately it has two 128 modules and only 2 ddr slots so its maxed and spending money on a new 1gb module is not an option for the family that owns the computer.
By any chance can you find out the brand name and model number of the motherboard? From that we could find out how much it can hold in terms of MB's as well as the type of modules needed. It would be worth the investment.
