Thats a pretty nice looking piece of kit...
Looks like it needs a special stylus though.

Stylus sends a infrared signal to the unit for the actions.
So yeah, special unit sylus.

Thanks @Rokytnji for bringng TouchPico to the thread.

I have used a Samsung NOTE smartPhone. It comes with a PEN (stylus) which I can choose to use for various desktop needs. So similarly it can do similar services on the phone. I have not tried to "broadcast" the screen to a Large screen (like a TV) while using the PEN. Broadcast may be of interesting benefit and similar to TouchPico functionality, but only to a TV/PC screen.

The "TouchPico" offers greater advantage in that the portable smartDevice can project to any surface, not just to a TV's screen.

Touch devices (smartDevices) can bring good use in/out of the home.
