mail me a puppy cd please

#1 Post by matthekc »

hey guys i want to try puppy but i'm on a ship in the navy they frown on 10meg + downloads. i have a few questions then maybe i could con someone to mail me a cd. I was looking at the 108 gamers edition i noticed it has the dvd codec that makes me happy. does it auto detect and mount external hard drives? should it work fine with a 500mhz dell insperon (pos) ati 200m card (i believe)

You can order a CD directly from Barry, with a lot of addons :)

no, unleashed has no games.
In one of the last chat-meetings we talked about offering a small service to burn custom CDs for a small fee, so I hope you will find someone who will burn one for you :)

:) This is a good example of why we should be meeting soon (July 22) to plan together custom CD building and other user services for Puppy Linux.

thats funny!

and the idea about custom cd's would be an awsome thing and you can do like that one girl posted about putting two iso's on one cd or possibly putting 1 iso on the cd and then finding a way to also add a hidden folder with extra dotpups possible all of em if possible you got 700 megs to use why not use em!

hey matthekc.
I'd be glad to cook you up a puppy 2, but surely there's someone closer to your mailing address? (I'm so far up Canada.... well lets just say there'd prolly be lotsa postage)

Let me know if nobody close to home comes through & we'll see what we can do.

got it covered

#19 Post by Ted Dog »

well almost, Kirks game iso (on Babbs server) can not be downloaded, I've also got a large number of game dot pups and test burned it to a DVD with multiple versions of isos for good measure. If anyone can point me to a different host of the game.iso version 2 let me know.
His address is non-standard, mailing from outside of USofA may never get delivered. I'll mail it from a local Army post they will know how to get it to him. By the way CD's from outside the country are routinely inspected, I got one from AU and it was openned, stamped inspected by US customs in red and placed inside a clear bag since the CD holder could not be reused. It only took two weeks to get to me, even when it was addressed to someone else, I would not have re-re-opened it but I thought BarryK sending me a gift (hint, Hint). Imagen My shock when it was a how-to-make money in welding. Then I looked at the name - ops not me!
