Studio 13.37 is back with an all-new edition - v2!

Kernel 3.14.12-rt, rtprio for automatic rt-tuning at boot, set_rlimits for realtime scheduling (automatically applied to all of the apps in the JACK Software Suite).

New UI, featuring Openbox, LXpanel, and CairoDock. New themes and artwork.

PlayOnLinux adds support to numerous Windows applications. WINE-rt enables realtime WINE scheduling. Comes with wineasio drivers.

Known issues: While Openshot is included, it is currently broken. But that's okay, because Kdenlive is working better than ever. Cinelerra is also included, for the first time.
On new Toshiba Satellite laptops, right-clicking isn't enabled on the touchpad. You can fix this by editing xorg as described here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 425#694425.
Not sure yet if this works on a Mac.
Deliberately kept WINE version at rt-1.2.3, because that was the last version fully compatible with JACK. However, an updated version is available here, and all sorts of WINE versions are available from within PlayOnLinux. (A note on PlayOnLinux - after a program is installed from POL, go into the settings associated with it and choose the internal version of WINE if you want to use the Studio 13.37 setup. But this isn't always necessary...)

Looks good brother!

I have everything. Pro Tools etc, a dozen DAW's...
Jack and your RT kernel together make them obsolete.
The Windows platform resource requirements create too much lag. The Mac's work better but are too restrictive software wise.
( Our latest demo was recorded on a Mac with ProTools. The engineer had to pre set the timing for the punch in and punch out points. I so need to buy the right sound card to show what this thing can really do.)
Time and money, the hurdles we all face!

So far it works like a charm.
Jack, Hydrogen, Rosegarden, Audacity ect all working flawlessly.
My 7 yr old son is having a blast with Hydrogen.
When I can pry it out of his hands I'll test some more stuff!

Love the cairodock popup when you mouseover the jack suite. And i like the inclusion of v4L support - that seems to be a central requirement for some of the skype alternatives I've been looking at.

Nice job so far. Hoping to get more time with V2 testing shortly..

One of my colleagues wants to jam with one of his band-mates who lives in another town and he's been trying to use skype but the delay makes it unusable.

I suggested there must be some way for him to stream some audio (as if he was an internet radio station), and his mate could do the same in reverse. A bit of research suggests that Icecast and darkice/darksnow may be suited for the task - I just wondered if you had tried such a thing from Studio?

Seems like OscarTalks has done some work with Icecast on recent Slackos so I will be looking into this a bit more.

Thank you both, that has been very informative. Netjack only supports local Lan use as the writeup says the internet cannot be used for realtime music transfer (especially in two directions required for synchronised bandplay as i was looking for)

Jamulus and Soundjack sound really interesting - they attempt to make it possible to communicate music over the internet by having a synchronisation server in the middle, so that is still a possibility, but the basic problem of overcoming the variable latency of internet data packets means this problem is bigger than I originally expected.

I was asking for help compiling it on slacko 5.6 as I haven't ever compiled before, but I've found a compiling tutorial and also realise I need to load the devx, so will have a go at that this weekend probably.
