hi every body !!

since a long time i wanted see YOU TUBE on my TV with my pc

here my configurations :

now with PC 1 connect with VLC 2.1.5 on windows XP with Flash and KLITE CODEC

for read and share videos YOU TUBE with VLC it's okay ITS WORKS !

just go to YOU TUBE copy adress to VLC
i can't explain because i'm french and my version VLC is french Rolling Eyes
share conection into VLC
and transcode because VLC on puppy arcade don't read the movie without trancoding .
it's very simple but i'm try more codec to trancode in Live with VLC

ITS PERFECT WITH MY k6 450 MHZ
IM SURE YOU CAN BEAT ME !!!

Think its a vala script that gets the mp4/flv from the url in those latest vlc's Smile

By the way as far as I know you don't need those dodgy Klite codecs for VLC.

VLC was designed as a streaming tool in the first place.
Video Lan Converter.

The fact that most people use it where the input stream is a file and the output stream is to a monitor is incidental.

I don't need to put another things to my installation

I use PUPPY ARCADE 10 i downloaded and install on
and that's all !!!!!

K62 450 MHZ
196 mo sdram pc100
hard disk 4go
geforce 7 with tv output
soundcard ISA sb16
usb wifi

and im use VLC only for you tube with another pc

VLC "puppy arcade 10" read the transcoding you tube adress that i configure on this another pc .

WITHOUT ANYTHING ITS PERFECT COMPARE TO WINDOWS
its plug and play with my "old" computer
what's old ?

Ah doh pennies dropped.

You are transcoding the you tube videos.

Ok well I think thats because the flash version of the file hides the codecs in a way that older players cannot recognise...which is why there is a problem on puppy arcade.

A newer player/puppy would play directly OR use a download addon and anything will play the mp4. That would save the over head and complexity of transcoding.
