Where to download Lucent Winmodem driver?

#1 Post by puppyowns »

Hi, i have a lucent winmodem, i downloaded puppy the other day and booted it up i think its great!.
Its now on my hard drive. Anyway i can't get the modem to work i tryed googeling it but i couldn't find much about it... when i went into modem wizard in puppy it said this:

WELCOME! Try your luck with Puppy analog Modem Wizard

Puppy has found a PCI modem:
Bus 2, device 10, function 0:
Communication controller: Lucent Microelectronics 56k WinModem (rev 1).
The vendor:chip numbers are (hex):

If you think that this is a Lucent Linmodem (Linux-compatible
software modem), press the "ttyLT0" button to test it.
HOWEVER, first download the Lucent modem package from the pupget folder
on ibiblio.org, run PupGet to install, then REBOOT Puppy.
Then, rerun this Wizard and will see "ttyLT0" button.

If you think that this is a Smart Link HAMR5600 based AMR/CNR/
MDC/ACR PCI linmodem, SmartPCI56/561/562/563 based PCI linmodem,
or SmartUSB56 based USB linmodem, press the "ttySL0" button.
HOWEVER, first download the Smartlink modem package from the pupget folder
on ibiblio.org, run PupGet to install, then REBOOT Puppy.
Then, rerun this Wizard and will see "ttySL0" button.

If you have a hardware modem, PCI, ISA bus or external serial,
you can press one of the "ttyS*" buttons to find out which
port it is on.
Note, ttyS0 is COM1, ttyS1 is COM2, etc.

If uncertain, press the "HELP" button, otherwise
press a "tty*" button to test if a modem is present..

However i went to ibiblio.org and could not find Lucent modem package or
pupget folder if any of you guys could help it would be great! thanks.

here's link for pupget packages:

http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/di ... ackages-1/

the ltmodem package depends on whether you're using pup1xxx version, or pup2xxx.

for pup1xxx the on to download is:

http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/di ... .29.tar.gz

for pup2xxx it's:

http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/di ... 6.7.tar.gz

just download the relevant one, run the puppy package manager & select this from the list, then when asked for download location, pick "local" & point to the directory you downloaded to.
