Hi all,
Just installed my first ever linux so I am new to these things. Basically, my sound doesn't work and I was wonderind why. I have installed the ALSA dotpup but it still doesn't pick up my sound card, which I think is Avance AC97.
Is there a nice, simple, step by step way to get my sound to work? ALSA doesn't do anything for me. When loading up it sayd 'no oss modules found' and when I select the 'intel' soundcard from the main menu it basically quits saying 'no drivers found'.
Any ideas? Really would like to use Linux over Win XP but no sound kinda kills it.
Cheers

it already has ALSA, and should autodetect your sound.
