Puppy translators

#1 Post by Bert »

Hi all,

Some weeks ago a new forum/mailing list was quietly started for and by Puppy translators.
After some discussion here in the murga forum, it became clear that we translators need our own space to communicate in.

It became apparent we have many ideas and wishes in common and if we are ever to achieve our goals, step one would be to have
our own channel. A place to brainstorm in and to develop real solutions for the further internationalization of Puppy linux.

Our priorities for now are:

1. Finding ways to help and support new and potential translators.
2. Creating a streamlined way to get language packs and their revisions and updates into Puppy.
3. Collecting all useful sources for puppy translators in one place.

No matter if you are an experienced translator or someone with the vague desire to do some translation, you are hereby
heartily invited to join the team at Puppy Translators Team!

It's an open forum: anyone can read, but for posting and replying registering is required. (very simple)

Hope to see you there!

Hi Bert,
I think it's better to get to know one another, to know what we're working on. It would be useful to create a small db to update online. In future could also be a .pet ...

Thanks to moderator Flash for making this thread "sticky".
I shortened the first post, as it was too long-winded...
And then lengthened it with a screen shot :)

Try attached pet please.
For 64 bit only

Did not compile in April64.
Thus was compiled in Fatdog64.
Copied to April64, pet'ted and uploaded.

Feedback welcome.

Yes!
The pet installs and works in Quirky.

(gave up compiling after three attempts)
Thank you very much!

I would be great to have this tool always opened, like a "floating palette"....

EDIT: second Geany start-up greys out the "Translation Helper"...
Workaround: opening Tools > plugin manager and unticking Translation Helper, closing manager + reopening manager and ticking Translation helper again...

Maybe it is greyed out just because there is no .po or .pot file open :?:

L18L,

There are others at http://plugins.geany.org/
Addons and Geanyextrasel to add some general features. Geanymacro adds macros with learning. And Spellcheck.
