PostPosted: Sun 08 Feb 2015, 07:05    Post subject: Update to pcmanfm-1.2.3-4.sfs

Another cosmetic fix to the "Installed Applications" pane.

It consists of a new sfs, "pcmanfm-1.2.3-4.sfs".
Also there is a new pet "menus_pcmanfm-0.1.pet". This contains modified versions of the ".menu" files that already exist in the puppy.sfs and hence are not seen if the sfs is loaded as a normal extra sfs.

For downloads see the first post.

The top level items are in the same order as the Rox desktop menu, and they use the same icons.
Expanding a top level item produces an alphabetic list of the same applications as appear in the corresponding Rox desktop menu.

It uses the "/etc/xdg/puppy-*.menu" files, unfortunately I had to tweak them a bit so they did what I wanted in PCManFM, but the Rox desktop menus remained unchanged.

PostPosted: Sun 08 Feb 2015, 10:09    Post subject: Update - filemnt_pcmanfm-0.2.pet

Filemnt pet has been updated to filemnt_pcmanfm-0.2.pet.

1) Based on "filemnt" from Tahrpup 6.0.2
2) Seems to work better when using Rox-filer.

Download url in first post has been updated.

If the icons in PCManFM go all fuzzy and wrong, check the contents of the file "/root/.gtkrc.mine", it should contain the line:
Code:
gtk-icon-theme-name="ROX"

PostPosted: Sat 11 Apr 2015, 10:42    Post subject: Update to pcmanfm-1.2.3-5.sfs

The new version fixes a problem with displaying the icons for mime types when small icons were being displayed.
Only the top left hand corner of the the large icon was displayed, now the icon is shown scaled down so the whole icon shows.

See first post for download.

PostPosted: Sun 19 Apr 2015, 09:21    Post subject: Re-establish ROX theme for PCManFM and gtk dialogs

This is mostly a precaution.
The files setting-up the ROX theme for PCManFM and gtk file dialogs could be disturbed by official fixes to Tahrpup 6. I have added a pet to re-establish the files as required by PCManFM.

See first post for download.

Its just a recompile and proper strip, so sfs is smaller.
Also removed ancillary binary, only pcmanfm now.
Now available as a .pet file.

See edited first post for downloads.

Wow! I quite like this. Thanks! One question: does it include WebDAV support?

You're welcome.
I've no idea if it includes WebDAV. Is normal PCManFM supposed to support WebDAV? Have you tried it?
Even if it is supposed to, it may not work in this version. I know that the device stuff does not work. And I never tried to get it working. I just want to use it as a basic file manager.
The only thing I disabled in the source is the "running as root" nag. It's all there, but obviously some other stuff is missing, so not everything works.

No WebDAV or FTP support here. I'll try installing GVFS and seeing if it works.

Having no luck whatsoever unless I make the file a monster and needlessly complicate the whole system by installing Console Kit and polkit so Udisks2 will work.

Hi Skydog007

Have you tried LxPup?? Both tahrpup and Slacko variants are available. Trash, and computer work fine. Network isn't completely integrated but yassm or pnethood open in pcmanfm.....

Cheers

I have not tried Lxpup yet. I'm worrying about compatibility with my applications and the fact that it may not have as much support as normal puppy and the fact that puppy doesn't use login managers and such.

used to day with Linux 4.1.6 by emsee. Nothing special. I don't specially enjoy this FM. It is here by default, beside ROX-filer.
Copy and past for transfer is vintage.
