I am using precise 5.7.1 and have installed a working Dell 1700n printer via USB and can print. I then downloaded samba-4.0-9-precise.sfs to share the printer. Entering the command "smbclient -U% -L localhost" gives me the folloring output:

Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 4.0.9]

Sharename Type Comment
------------------ ------- --------------
homes Disk Home Directories
print$ Disk Printer Drivers
IPC$ IPC IPC Service (puppy18813 server)
Dell_Laser_Printer_1700n Printer Dell Laser Printer 1700n
CUPS-PDF Printer CUPS-PDF

Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server][Samba 4.0.9]

Server Comment
---------- ---------------
PUPPYPC18813 puppypc18813 server

Workgroup Master
---------------- ----------
WORKGROUP PUPPYPC18813

Now, other systems can see the printer and was able to install but when I tried to print a test page, it kept saying "printer is busy". Nothing is on the queue, I have tried resetting the pc. Unload and reload the samba sfs file but nothing works

Thanks for looking and in advance for your help.

Any questions to help clarify things, please let me know.

Try using the "lpq" command.
This will list the jobs in queue. Once you know the queue job number, all you need to type is "lprm [job#]."

If no jobs in queue, try "lpq disable" then "lpq enable"

Executed the command and showed nothing on queue but disabling and re-enabling did the trick.

Thank you so much for your help as I was going bananas :D
