Puppy 2.00 CD suddenly won't boot

I have been using 2.00 Cd without problem until yesterday.

It goes appears to go through the normal load process but stops just after it confirms Firewall installed and other checks OK. Then command prompt appears.

If I type Help that seems to work but that's about the extent of my linux capability to date.

Only other thing I did yesterday was attempt to install Puppy on a USB flash drive. Copied all files but didn't boot. May have removed Flash mem will Puppy running.

Appreciate guidance.

Thanks,

Bill

This has happened to me several times. I wish I knew why it was doing that; it certainly can cause trouble for linux newbies. I bumbled around for a while, finally typed "reboot" and after rebooting (sometimes twice), it then goes into the gui properly. Very annoying.

At least when the script dumps you at the linux prompt, it should tell you WHY it dumps you there. Occasionally I get an unhelpful message about something wrong with xorg (which I don't use) but it doesn't tell how to recover.
